Synthetic Breathing Leaf

Julian Melchiorri, a graduate from RCA has just invented a "breathing leaf" that converts carbon to oxygen using photosynthesis. Melchiorri suspended chloroplast in a silk protien material. There are many possible applications, from inside space shuttles to building exteriors.
