Democratic Classrooms

Escuela Nueva is a new teaching model in which the classroom is run equally between student and teacher. The students propose the curriculum and the teachers aid the students in their investigations. It is hard for some students and parents to see the value in this type of educational system, but I believe it helps the students to have better critical thinking skills and become more involved in their studies. I do not know how this works for students whom need much more structure.
