Giant Bug thought to be Extinct is still Alive
The Stick inscect, or Dryococelus australis, has been presumed to be extinct for over 80 years after a marooned ship's rats were introduced to Lord Howe Island where they lived. These six-legged insects are as large as a human hand and maybe be one of the first insects on this planet. The search for these insects resumed after climbers had reported seeing "newly dead" carcasses. After found, they have started a new breeding program. There is so much about this planet that we still do not know.
